en la calle/heard on the street: En Mayami, una pareja de viejitos cubanos en un restaurant del NW miran las noticias sobre la matanza de Mumbai mientras comparten su plato de vaca frita, arroz blanco y maduros. De pronto ella le pregunta a él con voz tímida... /An elderly couple, having their shredded beef, white rice, fried plantains dinner in a Cuban restaurant in Miami's NW side watch the news about the Mumbai massacre. Suddenly the lady shyly asks her husband ..."¿Los de turbante son los que matan?", pregunta ella.
"Sí", responde él.
"Nunca me gustaron los hombres sin pelo ni los que se tapan la cabeza", afirma ella mientras con fuerza pincha un platanito antes de continuar, "por eso nunca me gustó el hijo de puta de Fidel".
Y ESO PRUEBA UNA VEZ MÁS QUE NO IMPORTA LO QUE SUCEDA EN EL MUNDO, EN MIAMI SÓLO CUENTA ESE OTRO mundo... cuba.
"The ones wearing turbants are the killers?," the lady asks her husband.
"Yes", he answers her.
"I never liked men without hair nor men that covered their heads," the lady states matter of fact as she firmly pinches a plantain with her fork before continuing to say: "That is why I never liked that son of a bitch, Fidel."
AND THAT JUST PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WORLD, IN MIAMI IT IS ONLY ABOUT THAT OTHER world... cuba.
